Journal: "The Transformative Encounter at Bethesda" - 3/22/24

Dear Journal, A whirlwind of awe enveloped me as I delved into the 5th chapter of John. It’s a mystery why my spiritual journey leapt from the book of Genesis to the profound depths of John’s narrative, but oh, the richness there is to savor! Imagine the scene at the pool of Bethesda: the air thick with hope and despair, and Jesus, with a gaze that pierces the soul, finds a man ensnared by infirmity. His question, simple yet profound, “Do you want to be made well?” cuts through the man’s litany of obstacles. With divine authority, Jesus commands, “Rise, take up your bed and walk,” and in an instant, a life is transformed. For 38 long years, this man’s plight was the town’s silent echo. Yet, in a single moment, Jesus rewrote his story. Picture the man, now standing, a living testament to a miracle, on a day when no work should be done. The Sabbath, a day of rest, became his day of rebirth. The crowd, oh how they buzzed with curiosity and indignation! Not “Who healed you?” with hearts l

Journal: "Never Stop Digging" - 11/3/2012

It’s amazing at what God have done through my life. I have asked to make my life busy, and that is just what God have been doing. As I sit here on my futon with blanket over my shoulder, listening to beautiful praises of wonderful musicians and singers through the speaker of my laptop, I am convicted in writing a Journal of how God have led me throughout this week.            Friday night of November 2, a story of a gold miner was brought to my attention by Pr. Bobby Sepang. He said, “Do you remember the story of a gold miner who gave up before finding gold a few feet from where he was digging?”             Before I get too far, let us start much earlier than that.            Wednesday morning, October 31st of the year 2012, the title soared across the top of the page, “Day 19: The Necessity of Spirit Baptism in Witnessing.” From the book titled, 40 Days: Prayers and Devotions to Prepare for the Second Coming . I have favored this book for what it had done in my li

Verse(s) for the day: 2 Timothy 4:7, 8

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” – 2 Timothy 4:7, 8 King James Version (KJV). On this text, Paul, the writer of the epistle to Timothy, had written his personal testimony to encourage us to do three things that will lead to the greatest satisfaction for all mankind. The first point is, “I have FOUGHT a good fight.” As human being, not just Christians, we are daily fighting with our conscience to do the right thing. We fight against what we know is wrong; e.g., lying, gossiping, stealing, and even perhaps punching somebody on his face. There is that conscience, whispering in our hearts, letting us know that it is wrong to do what is unrighteous. The Bible does say, in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principa

Journal: "Trust in God" - 12/2/2010

Dear reader, December 1, 2010, 12:00AM. Ninth day after leaving Emmanuel Institute of Evangelism, I had so much struggle. Here are the highlights: 11/21/2010 – My flight supposed to leave at 9:00AM from GRR airport and supposed to arrive at DIA in Denver at around 10:00AM. On the drive to GRR airport, I had a great talk with Pr. Roth. He inspired me on going out to do God’s will. I also told him that on that day, I would like to go out in the afternoon to go door to door, and I was excited about doing that. When I entered the airport, I found out that the Flight from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Denver, Colorado was delayed. It was the only flight delayed until afternoon. I couldn’t believe it. On the line to get tickets, I had time to talk to this boy. However, I did not catch his name. In the airplane, I got to sit with a man named Doug. He is in the military, a navy reserved and he was spending his vacation in his hometown, Holland, Michigan. He shared a lot about himself, about drinki

Just a thought... - November 11, 2010

God loves us so much. Therefore, He gave all of His creations choices. In those, there are consequences. How do you choose to live your life today? When Jesus was in the world, He often times spoke with parables. It was Jesus that gave His revelation to John. Therefore, there is no surprise that He revealed it with symbols.

Journal: 10/20/10

October 20, 2010. 6:00AM. I personally had hard time coming to God this morning. I usually feel excited to read God's word, but this morning, I had to "force" myself in coming to God's feet. I started with the usual, thanking God with the gift of life that He had provided for me, and that He may forgive me from the sins that I have done, especially the one favorite sin that I cannot seem to stop. I sang a couple of songs from the SDA hymnal and then I prayed for the blessings and the guidance of Holy Spirit. I started my morning devotional reading from the book titled, “Reflecting Christ.” You can read it here, " Transformation of Character Takes Place Here ." Then, I continued reading my daily Bible reading from John 5:31-47. The Holy Spirit then lead me in understanding that, we may read or know the Bible daily, but do we live the life that are portrayed in the Bible? Transformation of Character takes place here and now. We need to not just read the Bible

Journal: Will You Go? - 10/15/2010

October 14, 2010. It started out like any other Thursday at Emmanuel Institute. I was awakened by God at around 6:00AM. Right away I dove to the Word of God longing to see what God wanted to speak to me. I studied the story of the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well (John 4). I dug the background of the people of Samaritan from the time of Abraham, to Jacob, to Joshua, to Jeroboam and to Jesus’ time. I discovered the reason why the Jews disliked the Samaritans. It was there, at the mountains, where an altar was built. In that same city was where God rebuked them to worship God with all their heart. Yet, they chose to fear God but serve other gods. I love the word of God, I just wish I could have stayed in my room and read more of the wonderful stories of the Bible. But I concluded that I need to worship God with all my heart and not half-heartedly. Therefore, I need to seek those that are far from God, and that are longing for truth. Breakfast started at 8:00AM with a very special and del
